📜 The True Heart of DanLuShan: Ming Dynasty Stone Inscriptions

DanLuShan is more than a beautiful landscape – it is a living heritage site of Ming Dynasty Taoism. Its power and spirit are preserved in ancient stone inscriptions written by the legendary Immortal Guanyang and his disciples during the Wanli Era (1573–1620).

These inscriptions reveal:

– The story of the *”Dragon Vein”* – the sacred energy believed to flow through the mountain.
– The origin of the *”Human Gate”* – a passage representing the transition from mortal life to spiritual enlightenment.
– Detailed records of Taoist alchemical practices, the construction of the *Shanggu Zhi’an* fortress, and the mountain’s profound spiritual legacy.

This is the authentic historical foundation of DanLuShan – a story you won’t find at most tourist destinations.

Questions & Answers

  1. What is that link for that you put at the top?
    • That is a link to a Chinese website that has detailed information about the hotel, sort of booking.com. I can’t read Chinese, but I see pictures. (27-06-2025)
  2. Can you also post the sim card you buy later after you arrive in HK so if we have trouble we can look for the specific one and maybe which part of the airport?
    • I think I can do that upon arrival, I will purchase one at the airport, not sure if it is the cheapest one, but most convenient one. (27-06-2025)
  3. What about currency conversion, How much should we bring/exchange in HK and should we exchange in HK and then exchange in China or keep our native currency and then exchange more after getting to China?
    • I think you should use the Octopus card and top it up there, so you can use it in China as well. I saw that the Octopus has a card that you can use in HK and China both. I have not researched that, maybe you can check out the ink of the Octopus card and report back. (27-06-2025)
  4. Do we know the training schedule each morning? What time to get to training and what we need to do before or after? Should we eat breakfast before or after training?
    • Training schedule, need to check with Professor, he will be teaching, Professor is very busy at the moment with his presentation and we can still discuss it a week before, unless you have other plans in Dan Lu Mountains. Maybe it is good to train before breakfast, after breakfast, normally you need to rest, because it can cause some discomfort in the stomach, let’s see what Professor’s suggests. (27-06-2025)
  5. Since you provided links, can you also provide links for maps where people should stay in HK near West Kowloon Train station in Tsim Sha Tsui?
    • To be honest I don’t, I think it is individual preferences, maybe some people want to stay in an airbnb or a bed and breakfast of a luxurious hotel. Depending also on your own needs, do you like shopping, or eating or clubbing. Personal preferences. It is only my recommendation, but I can be wrong, I think it is convenient to stay near the station so you don’t have to walk long ways with your luggage. (27-06-2025)
